New Jersey League of Conservation Voters interim Executive Director Allison McCleod has issued the following statement in response to Attorney General Jennifer Davenport's decision to sue the Trump administration over its attempts to block offshore wind development:

"We applaud Attorney General Davenport move to stand up to Donald Trump's pro-fossil fuel agenda — which is raising costs for working families. We know that building new clean energy, including offshore wind, is the best tool we have to lower skyrocketing energy rates. This move is designed to hold Trump accountable, and we look forward to working with the Attorney General and Governor Sherrill on policies that fight back against Trump and deliver real results for New Jerseyans."
